Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Mai Pantry mobile application (the "App") operated by Mai Pantry ("we", "us", "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Mai Pantry is a grocery price comparison app that helps you compare product prices across Australian grocery retailers, manage and share shopping lists, and plan shopping trips. The App displays product and pricing information sourced from publicly available retailer websites. Some features are available through an optional paid subscription, Mai Pantry Pro (see Section 4A).

2. Use of the App

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.

2.2 Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the App to engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the App or our servers.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
  • Submit false, misleading, or spam reports through the App's reporting features.
  • Use automated tools to access or collect data from the App or its API.
  • 3. Product and Price Information

    3.1 Accuracy Disclaimer

    Product names, descriptions, images, prices, promotions, and availability indicators displayed in the App are sourced from publicly available retailer websites and are provided for informational purposes only. We make every effort to keep this information current, but we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or store-level accuracy.

    3.2 Not an Offer to Sell

    The display of products and prices in the App does not constitute an offer to sell. Actual prices, stock levels, assortment, fulfilment options, and product details may vary by store location and are subject to change without notice. A product shown in the App may be out of stock, unavailable for pickup or delivery, region-limited, discontinued, substituted, or not stocked at a particular store. Always verify stock and prices directly with the retailer before relying on the information.

    3.3 Retailer Trademarks

    Product names, logos, and brand names displayed in the App are the trademarks of their respective owners. Their use in the App is for identification purposes only and does not imply endorsement by or affiliation with Mai Pantry.

    4. User-Submitted Content

    4.1 Reports

    You may submit price corrections, sold-out reports, and missing product reports through the App. By submitting a report, you:

  • Confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, and process the report data to improve our service.
  • Acknowledge that reports are subject to moderation and may not be published.
  • 4.2 Content Standards

    Reports and feedback must not contain offensive, defamatory, or misleading content. We reserve the right to reject or remove any submission at our discretion.

    4A. Subscriptions (Mai Pantry Pro)

    Some features of the App are available only through Mai Pantry Pro, an optional auto-renewing subscription.

  • Billing. Mai Pantry Pro is sold as an in-app purchase and billed to your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in the iOS Settings app (your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the current paid period.
  • Free features. The core price-comparison features of the App remain free. Mai Pantry Pro unlocks additional features such as saved and shared shopping lists, the meal planner, price tracking, and spending insights.
  • Payments and refunds. Purchases, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. We do not process payments or issue refunds directly.
  • Price and feature changes. We may change the subscription price or the features included in Mai Pantry Pro. Any price change applies only to future billing periods and, where required by Apple or by law, only with prior notice and your consent.
  • 5. Privacy

    Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

    6. Intellectual Property

    6.1 App Ownership

    The App, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by Mai Pantry and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

    6.2 Limited Licence

    We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

    7. Disclaimers

    7.1 "As Is" Basis

    THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

    7.2 No Guarantee of Savings

    We do not guarantee that using the App will result in cost savings. Price comparisons are based on available data and may not reflect current in-store prices.

    7.3 No Guarantee of Stock or Product Suitability

    We do not guarantee that any product shown in the App is currently in stock, available at your chosen store, suitable for your needs, or free from errors in description, packaging, ingredients, allergens, dietary suitability, or retailer fulfilment status. You are responsible for confirming final product details directly with the retailer before purchase or consumption.

    7.4 Service Availability

    We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the App or its services. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without notice.

    8. Limitation of Liability

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MAI PANTRY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the App.
  • Any inaccuracy in product or price information displayed in the App.
  • Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.
  • Any other matter relating to the App.
  • 9. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mai Pantry, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

    10. Changes to These Terms

    We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

    11. Termination

    We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

    12. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

    13. Severability

    If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
